Cat Party
Hello Kitty |
Food & Cake
Cupcakes with cat faces
Serve individually in new kitty dishes (plastic double sided)
In one side place a frosted cupcake and the other place decorative edible
items so the kids can make their own kitty face. (string licorice, gummy/gum
drops, other candies or suitable items)
Kitty Litter Cake
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box white cake mix
1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
1 box vanilla instant pudding mix
12 tootsie rolls
Green food coloring
1 NEW litter box
1 NEW plastic scoop
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans). Prepare
pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in
small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but
about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring
and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with
half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably
won’t need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and “feel” it, you don’t want
it soggy, just moist; gently combine. Spoon mixture into clean litter box.
Place three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft
and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat
with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie
crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is
supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie
Rolls, three at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top
of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and
sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around.
Serve with a new pooper scooper.
Serve "cat kibble" (Lucky Charms cereal)
Goldfish Crackers
Small pies for the kittens
Goodie Bags
Mittens - these can be purchased or made out of felt
Fill the mittens with treats
& items with kittens on them - notepads, erasers, stickers, magnets, etc.
Games & Activities
Sort kids into groups of three based on their costume colors. Each group
will be a different type of cat
The groups can make matching kitty headbands from plastic headbands and felt or
cat collars.
Read the story "The Three Little Kittens" to the kids.
Hide the mittens (goodie bags) around the house and have the kids look for them.
Give each child their own mini pie when they have found their mitten.
Hide toy mice in the house and have all the kids look for them after you read
the story.
Each threesome can count their mice and the team with the most wins a prize.
Scavenger hunt with cat toys.
Cat Walk - Using a simple walkway give the kids a chance
to show off their costumes. Play music such as Stray Cat's - Stray
Cat Strut.
Pin the Tail on the Cat
Catch the Kitties - Using upright cat stuffed animals or drawn cats on
posterboard mounted to a sturdy board or other, use plastic or wood rings to
toss and "catch" the kitties. Each child gets to throw 3 or 4 each.
